I believe effective intervention is rooted in the belief that all students are capable of growth when provided with the right support, instruction, and encouragement. Intervention should be proactive, responsive, and strengths-based, focusing not only on academic skills but also on building student confidence and motivation. Early intervention is essential because identifying and addressing learning gaps early helps prevent frustration and allows students to experience success sooner.
I believe intervention works best in inclusive learning environments where students feel safe, valued, and supported. Equity in education means providing students with the specific tools, scaffolds, and opportunities they need to access learning and reach their potential. I use data-driven instruction to identify student needs, monitor progress, and adjust instruction intentionally while recognizing that meaningful data includes both assessments and daily observations of student learning and behavior.
I also believe collaboration is a critical component of successful intervention. Strong partnerships with families, special education staff, interventionists, and support teams help create consistency and provide students with the support they need to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Above all, I strive to create a learning environment where students develop resilience, celebrate progress, and begin to see themselves as capable, successful learners.
All students grow with the right supports.
